Besides paying a ”living wages” which is substantially higher than the legal minimum, Esprit Apparels supports its employees by setting up welfare facilities like medical center, day-care center and canteen. The result is industry-low turnover rate in its workforce.
Properly equipped with a team of full-time doctors and nurses, its medical healthcare requirements. It also bears full expenses of treatment of any injuries incurred in working hours.
In Esprit Apparels, day care center is not mere compliance with legal requirement, rather a pride taking facility to take care & entertain children of working mothers. The goal is to exceed requirements of local legislation and reach the global standards and thereby support client’s images and sourcing principles. Clearly demarcated emergency routes and exits, smoke & fire detectors, consciously designed working lay-outs and warning signs are posted in highly visible places inside the factory.
Corporate Social Responsibility
For over a decade, Esprit Apparel’s charitable arm, has expanded the company’s community involvement efforts. It kindly donated to different orphanages, helped people in Chattogram and Dhaka , as for records Esprit Apparels shared the opportunity to provide free eye care to the poor by establishing an advanced eye hospital in Dhaka as the name of ‘Bashundhara Eye Hospital’ and free complete care in Chattogram by the name of “Ma o Shishu Hospital”. Even some educational institutions with facilities were founded for charitable reasons. Esprit Apparels strictly complies with BSCI regulations and thus, actively support the elimination of child labor from the society. It has effectively developed the “green and responsible” concept among its partners.
